Oh food blog, how I have missed you!

Our garden tomatoes and basil are in full glory right now.

There’s nothing like a nectarine blueberry pie in the dead of winter to remind you of a warm summer day…(made with frozen summer delights, of course)

Is there anything better than grilled pizza in the summertime? I love what a quick meal it makes (quick is important when juggling a cranky infant at the end of a long work day). And it’s even better with fresh from the garden ingredients like tomatoes, basil, and homemade pesto.

We have a guest chef in the house this week since I spend my days nursing a baby and not cooking. Here’s a shout out to the new Bubbe and the marvelous meals she is preparing for us - this is a BLT +A + C (Bacon Lettuce Tomato Avocado Cheese) that I could barely fit in my mouth.

I haven’t posted a review of the new Snooze location that opened up near our house yet. The wait is still ridiculous - about an hour for weekend brunch - but there are a few standouts on the menu. The slow roasted pork benny is probably my current fave, the melt-in-your-mouth pork on a homemade english muffin is really tasty. It’s close enough we can put our name on the list and then return home for coffee.

Abe makes gnocchi! We had Marcella Hazan’s classic last night - just flour and potatoes - and it was delish and easy. Makes me wonder why I never do it!

Encore Restaurant is a surprising treat, and it is right next door to the wonderful Tattered Cover independent book store for some browsing while you digest this juicy burger.

Another great meal at Barolo Grill with my mom in town. The risotto con pera e anatra (risotto with duck breast, roasted pears and robiola cheese) was divine.

Chocolate caramel fleur de sel tart with milk chocolate ice cream and nougatine crunch at Olivea restaurant in Denver.
